This week has been all about Valentine's Day with my preschool class. On Tuesday, we read Love is Walking Hand in Hand by Charles Schultz. Just when I start getting used to my schedule at work, it changes. But the new schedule looks more consistent at least. Only one 7am day instead of three. And no 10 hour days.(but still a 9 hour one).Monday 7-4Tuesday 8-4Wednesday 8-4:30Thursday 8-4Friday 12-5:30For a net loss of one hour. Not bad. I'm not so crazy about Monday still having to be the early morning, but I'll live.

Christmas Lights in Motion Does this shot capture the feeling of chaos that this day seemed to be packed full of? Christmas brunch with my sister's in-laws, last-minute shopping followed by last minute wrapping in which we ran out of paper before the boxes were completely covered, and dinner and Dirty Santa with my brother-in-law's extended family all crammed into one 24-hour period.

This is the tree that my pre-k class made earlier this week. I drew a simple tree shape on the paper and had them put their little green handprints all over it. Then they colored ornaments and we taped those to the tree. It was a lot of fun.

So I got the hours I asked for. The very next day the director handed me a piece of paper and asked if this would work. Why, yes, that will work nicely. Thank you very much. It didn't stay exactly like that for even one week, but taking an hour away from one day and adding an hour to 2 other days puts me up to 40 hours a week, so I'm not complaining. I'm not taking a lunch on any of those days.

I love the fact that when a cactus near the road here is damaged or decaying it isn't simply removed. Supports are added to keep it from falling into the road. It's nice to see any attempt at preserving nature - especially in the middle of a big city.

First things first - I took a few pictures of the apartment we were relocated to during the fiasco with the air conditioning in our apartment. You can see that slideshow HERE. Ugh. After working exhaustingly long hours at our respective jobs, Hubby and I arrived home last night and walked in to an oven. Yes, our air conditioning - which was working fine after last week's maintenance call was resolved by repairing a short in the unit - was out. Last night our air went out. The maintenance man who came to let us in to one of the "corporate apartments" came in to see if he could figure out what the problem was.
