Encouraging Ignorance - One Shoe at a Time

So I'm sitting in the living room on a Saturday morning, chillin' with a little Spectacular Spiderman on the tube, when this Sketchers commercial comes on.

Now, as a preschool teacher, I appreciate the parents who send their little tykes to school in velcro shoes. It definitely makes my days easier to not be bent down tying a shoe every time I turn around. But it seems to me that these commercials are targeted toward children who are old enough to tie their own shoelaces. What do you think?
