My eight year old is LOVING Dahls books, just did a report on Esio Trot. VERY good list you have here! ;)

Great list! A lot of my favourites on there too, C.S. Lewis and Dahl among them. Madeleine L'Engel and Ted Dekker are also wonderful to curl up with on a cold day. My TT is up!

Right there with you for #'s 1,2,4,7,8,13. Not as familiar with the others. Mostly they were authors I read as a kid, but they're also great to re-read as an adult. And I have to admit I've become addicted to the Harry Potter books, much as I hate to follow trends.

Have you ever read anything by Susan Cooper (The Dark Is Rising series)? She'd fit right in with this list.
