A kiss is just a kiss

For your listening pleasure

A kiss is such a little thing, but each kiss holds within it a world of meaning. Consider these thoughts on the matter:

A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous. ~ Ingrid Bergman ~

A kiss can be a comma, a question mark or an exclamation point. That's basic spelling that every woman ought to know. ~ Mistinguett (Jeanne Bourgeois) ~

Kissing is a means of getting two people so close together that they can't see anything wrong with each other. ~ Rene Yasenek ~

Kissing is like drinking salted water. You drink, and your thirst increases. ~ Chinese Proverb ~

Is not a kiss the very autograph of love? ~ Henry Finck ~

Ancient lovers believed a kiss would literally unite their souls, because the spirit was said to be carried in one's breath. ~ Eve Glicksman ~

I ran up the door, opened the stairs, said my pajamas and put on my prayers - turned off my bed, tumbled into my light, and all because he kissed me good-night! ~ Author Unknown ~

So, just what is a kiss? A declaration of love? A means of manipulation? A punctuation mark? A brain-scrambling experience? A soul-linking action? How about all of the above? Or something else entirely? Something beyond definition, above the words of any mortal language.

Great quotes that I didn't know. Made me want to add this one to the list: "High heels were invented by a woman who had been kissed on the forehead." ~~ Christopher Morley
