Know Thyself
John Calvin once said "There is no deep knowing of God without a deep knowing of self and no deep knowing of self without a deep knowing of God."
Deep, huh?
We are created in the image of God. So it is a logical conclusion that we share some characteristics with Him. God is a God of emotions - love, joy, compassion, sorrow, jealousy, anger. We should keep that in mind as we encounter our own emotions. We must come to the realization that none of those emotions are bad or evil (if they were, God wouldn't have them). It's how we express those emotions, who or what they are directed toward and how we deal with them, that can be either good or bad.
Gee, I wanted to make this more than just a short observation, but I'm feeling a bit of a block.
